SHILLONG:
Power Minister AT Mondal appealed to the Meghalayans on Tuesday, urging them to opt for smart meters.
Addressing the status of the implementation of smart metering projects, Mondal highlighted that many people are still hesitant to install smart meters. He emphasised the benefits, stating, “Therefore, we are requesting every consumer wherever possible to go for smart meters because that will stop all confusion over billing. If there is any confusion from MeECL for under-billing, all confusion will be over.”
Mondal acknowledged that the installation process for smart meters is underway, with some already installed and plans for further installations in progress. He assured, “Some have already been installed, and we will continue with further installations.”
