SHILLONG:
The Voice of the Party Party (VPP), on May 24, said that the party is firm on its demand to review the reservation policy and that they will continue the hunger strike till the demands are met by the government.
Speaking to reporters, general secretary of VPP Ricky Syngkon said, “The government has not given any sort of reply till now. As we have stated from the very beginning where our president decided to undertake this indefinite hunger strike, our agitation will continue till the government reviews the reservation policy.”

When asked if there will be other leaders who will join the hunger strike, Syngkon said, “We will decide as this is a decision made by the party under the leadership of Ardent Basaiawmoit. We will see what happens next.”
Further, he said that the party is firm in its decision and without touching the reservation policy, the concept of the roster system is meaningless.
It may be mentioned that VPP chief Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit staged an indefinite hunger strike at the Additional Secretariat parking lot since May 23.
