Public asked to identify burnt foetus found at Malki Khliehshnong

In a press statement issued on July 4, the EKH SP office said that after completing all legal formalities, the foetus was shifted to NEIGRIHMS Hospital for PM examination, and a case has been registered at Laitumkhrah PS in connection with the incident.

The Office of the Superintendent of Police (SP), East Khasi Hills (EKH) district has informed that a burnt foetus found abandoned in the jungle of Malki Khliehshnong near Catholic Cemetery on June 16 has been kept at NEIGRIHMS Hospital Morgue for identification and claim.

In a press statement issued on July 4, the EKH SP office said that after completing all legal formalities, the foetus was shifted to NEIGRIHMS Hospital for PM examination, and a case has been registered at Laitumkhrah PS in connection with the incident.

“On June 18, an inquest was conducted over the burnt foetus and forwarded for PM examination,” the press release said.

The SP office has asked all concerned to identify the burnt foetus and take it immediately by calling on the following numbers: O/C Laitumkhrah PS-0364 2223069, I/C Police Control Room Shillong-0364 2222214/2222215.
