For public safety, the Ri Bhoi police warned the public to drive slow especially when it rains along the NH and state highways to avoid accident and to ensure personal safety as many road accidents occur during heavy outpour.
SI Paila Lyngdoh of Ri Bhoi Traffic Police lent helping hands in clearing fallen tree along the highway.
On Wednesday, a tree fell before Shangbangla u-turn towards Umling along NH 6. The tree has been removed for smooth movement of traffic with the help of the police, forest department in coordination with NHAI. Presently the route is clear and there was no casualty reports.
