Seng Samla seeks govt intervention on border infra

NONGPOH:

Peeved with the step motherly attitude of the state government towards the villages of border areas, the Seng Samla Border Area Raid Nongtung Block II on Monday met and handed over the memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District demanding several issues to be look into.

In the memorandum, signed by the leaders of the Seng Samla, Hiralius Lyngshiang and Alloysius Bina, expressed grief concerned over the hardships faced by the locals.

The villages are in a desperate need of good road connectivity. The Seng Samla mentioned the 2 kms Mawlasnai – Jatalong road which is in a bad shape and need repairment at the earliest.

The memorandum also mentioned the need for Solar Light System for Umsohlaper village having 52 households and Sabuda village which has over 105 households.

The Seng Samla Border has also sought immediate intervention of the district administration towards the unauthorised installation of electricity poles by the Assam government at Sabuda and Jatalong village.
