The directive follows the guidance provided by Justice Katakey during a video conferencing meeting on January 5, 2024.

TURA:

The Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills district has issued a notice, urging concerned individuals to ensure the transportation of reassessed/inventoried coal from pitheads to designated depots by January 31, 2024.

The directive follows the guidance provided by Justice Katakey during a video conferencing meeting on January 5, 2024.

The notice explicitly states that failure to meet the transportation deadline will result in the seizure of all reassessed/inventoried coal at pitheads. The seized coal will be taken to designated depots by the relevant authority and subsequently auctioned through Coal India Limited (CIL).

Furthermore, no financial compensation will be provided to the coal owners from the auction proceeds of the seized coal.
