Shillong:
The Archdiocese of Shillong will join hands with the Catholic Association of Shillong who are organising a Silent Peace Rally on August 5 from Iewrynghep ground, Laitumkhrah near the Fire Brigade to Don Bosco Stadium.
In a statement issued here, the Archbishop of Shillong Victor Lyngdoh mentioned that there have been prayers made for peace in the world and peace in Manipur.
He stated that the injustice to women was witnessed, there were also burning of houses, destroying places of worship, there was mass exodus of people and death due to the violence.
He stated, “We stand for respect and dignity of human beings in our civilized human society. In connection with the inhuman treatment of women, we join hands with the Catholic Association of Shillong who are organizing a Silent Peace Rally.”
