State BJP govt completes one year, holds meet at Borgos Resort of Kaziranga

GUWAHATI:

The Himanta Biswa Sarma-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Assam organised a two-day training camp of ruling party legislators at Borgos Resort of Kaziranga to mark its one-year completion. The meet began on May 5 and concluded on May 6 with party workers reiterating their commitment towards the development of the state.

“As we complete one year of our govt in Assam, it gives me immense pleasure to meet my Cabinet colleagues & legislatures of @BJP4Assam & allied parties in a day-long session at Kaziranga,” Sarma said in a tweet.

“Kaziranga session is an opportunity to brainstorm on the series of schemes which will be at the forefront of GoA’s dvpt plan & the role of Cabinet colleagues & legislators in proper implementation of schemes as per Hon PM Shri @narendramodi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’,” he added.

During the programme, the CM provided training to the legislators on fund management, especially the timely utilisation of all development funds, including MPLADF and MLALADF, and also discussed the strategy of the three alliance parties for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. He also conducted a review of all the important schemes and steps that were undertaken by the government in the past year.

Apart from the review meeting, a brainstorming session was also held during which planning was done for next year, and an orientation programme was conducted where issues of governance were deliberated upon by the MLAs.

BJP’s North East general secretary (Organisation) Ajay Jamwal and chiefs of the saffron party’s allies – Atul Bora of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Pramod Boro of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) – and others attended the meeting.

There will be no anniversary celebration this year, though the state government has a month-long programme lined up during which ministers will visit different parts of the state and take part in various events.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Guwahati on May 10, and during his visit, he will be launching several developmental projects and also address a public meeting.
