SHILLONG:
In a chilling incident earlier this morning near Anton Hall, a student of St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School became the victim of a collision involving a two-wheeler. The incident, captured on CCTV, unfolded as the student, Edmund Marpan, 17, who was crossing the road with a helmet in hand, just after leaving the premises through the gate. The rider of the two-wheeler, Eukratis Mylliempdah, 22, is identified as a first-semester undergrad student at Shillong Commerce College.

The footage shows the two-wheeler racing at an alarming speed. The collision’s impact was so powerful that it propelled the student some distance along the road, causing their helmet to be flung onto the footpath. Immediate assistance was rendered by passersby, including the owner of the two-wheeler, who rushed to aid the student.
The collision resulted in the student sustaining a fractured right leg and a minor head injury. In response, swift measures were taken, as the student was promptly transported to Woodland Hospital in a taxi. Following this, the family took the initiative to shift the student to Guwahati for further medical attention.
