The East Khasi Hills district police has informed that one Sonali Kumari (17), who had gone missing since December 21, 2022, was rescued from Bidupur village, Vishali district, in Bihar on June 6.
According to a circular from Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills district, father of Sonali Ram Sogarath Singh, a resident of DPI compound, Crinoline Swimming Pool Road, Shillong had registered an FIR at Laban PS after Sonali had gone missing, and accordingly police launched an operation to trace the girl.
“Continuous efforts were made to trace the missing girl, and on acquiring some clues on the matter, a police team from East Khasi Hills district led by Inspector KP Singh OC in-charge Laitumkhrah PS proceeded to Bihar in search of the missing girl and found Sonali Kumari from Bidupar Village in Bihar,” EKH Superintendent of Police S Nongtnger said in the press release.
