Troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) seized 25,500 Yaba tablets and 7 kg ganja along the Indo–Bangladesh border, on April 28.
Two persons have been arrested in connection to the seizure, a senior BSF official of Guwahati Frontier BSF informed.
“In the supervision of commandant 192Bn BSF, troops carried out a special operation and apprehend two drug traffickers along with 25,500 Yaba tablets (worth Rs 1.27 crore) and 7 kg ganja from Sukurkuti under Sahebganj police station in Coochbehar district of West Bengal. The consignment was meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh,” the official said.
The apprehended smugglers along with seized items are being handed over to the nearest police station for further legal action, he said.
