3 new facilities inaugurated in Civil Hospital

The programme was organised by the office of the Joint Director of Health Services, Civil Hospital, Shillong.

SHILLONG:

Health and Family Welfare Minister James P K Sangma inaugurated the Biological Waste Management System, 10 – bedded Geriatric Ward and P.S.A. Oxygen Generation Plant at Civil Hospital, Shillong on Thursday.

The programme was organised by the office of the Joint Director of Health Services, Civil Hospital, Shillong.

Sangma appreciated the hard work and dedication of the medical and non-medical staff of Civil Hospital, adding that Civil Hospital, Shillong has set a high benchmark which is worthy of emulation by other District Hospitals.

He further stated that the inauguration of the three new facilities is an indication of the progress in the state, terming the new addition as a “new start.” Sangma also stressed the need of replicating the same in all medical health facilities across the State.

Lauding the role played by Civil Hospital in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic and the enthusiasm shown in improving the delivery service of the hospital, Sampath Kumar, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department also stressed the need for a positive and contagious spirit to be shared by all medical and non-medical staff to bring about further transformations in the future. Informing that the Cancer wing in the hospital is now fully operational, he also mentioned that with hard work and the right attitude, Civil Hospital, Shillong can also be upgraded to a super speciality hospital in the years to come.
