GUWAHATI:
The Guwahati Police busted an inter-state network of drug trafficking and seized 30,000 bottles of Phensedyl from Nizarapar, Pachim Boragaon under Gorchuk Police Station and arrested three persons in connection with the seizure, on May 26.
The arrested have been identified as Mridul Malakar, Mujibur Rahman and Hafijur Rahman.
In an operation led by Joint Commissioner of Police, Partha Sarathi Mahanta, the police team seized the consignment, which is one of the biggest seizures of cough syrup by Guwahati Police, from a mini truck.
The police personnel further informed that the consignment was brought from West Bengal to Bangladesh through Assam and Meghalaya.
