SHILLONG:
A total of 37 youths, including 4 girls attended the four-day Football Referees training programme organised by the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) and Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) at Umdihar in Ri Bhoi district from August 16 to 19.
Of the 37 youths who attended the training, 1 will reach level 6, three will reach level 7, and the rest will remain at level 8.
The Program was attended by Charles Marngar MLA of Mawhati Constituency as chief guest in presence RBDSA President, first General Secretary of RBDSA, and other officials.
AIFF Referee Instructor, Joy Chandra Singh appreciated the dedication of the RBDSA and DSO Ri Bhoi in promoting football in Ri Bhoi stating, “This is for the first time that we got a chance to train aspiring referees in Ri Bhoi. It is my privilege to train them so that they can use their skills and knowledge to promote the game.”
Similarly, first General Secretary of RBDSA, RR Kynsai Makdoh said, “I remember myself back in 1974 when I wanted to become a referee but was not able to get a proper training like you all are getting now. But I am very happy to see all of you getting we will see referees from Ri Bhoi in the National Level Games in the future.”
