SHILLONG:
The Ri Bhoi Police under Umsning Police Outpost seized 65.71 gram of heroin, and arrested four persons in connection with the seizure on January 31.
According to the police, the seizure and arrests were made during a nakka checking at Umran Diary, when a hatchback car bearing registration number ML 05 E0804 with four occupants was intercepted and a through checking conducted inside the vehicle.
The arrested persons have been identifired as Klevin Malngiang (Driver) of Mawlai, Frederick Ryntathiang of Pynthor, Bankit Marbaniang of Lumshyiap Golf Link, and Shanbor Rani of Nongmynsong.
Police seized 7 soap boxes and 4 viles containing suspected Heroin from the persons.
Besides the Contraband, cash amount of Rs. 34,370, 4 mobile phones, and 3 syringes were also recovered from them.
Meanwhile an FIR has been registered against all drug peddlers under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Umsning PS.
