SHILLONG:
The state reported four new Covid cases on May 2, with active cases standing at 12.
As per the data provided by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (NHM), Department of Health and Family Welfare, the total active cases are 12 with eight new recoveries, and zero deaths.
The new cases were found in East Khasi Hills (1) and West Garo Hills (3).
It may be mentioned that Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh has said that Covid numbers in the state are well under control and there are no signs that this will become like a pandemic again.
Lyngdoh had said that the department will not create unnecessary panic among the public, but urge them to take all necessary precautions.
