Lalbiakthanga aims to spread the message of brotherhood, national integrity, eye donation and conservation of water resources and wildlife through the walkathon.

AIZAWL:

Sixty-four-year-old Lalbiakthanga, on February 21, launched the second leg of his walkathon from Aizawl with a pledge “to travel across Mizoram on foot”.

Mizoram Journalists’ Association (MJA) president, Zonunsanga Khiangte, flagged him off at Sikulpawn at 10 am on Monday.

Lalbiakthanga said that, this time, he would traverse across southern parts of Mizoram.

He started his mission from Vairengte, a town in Kolasib district on the northern tip of Mizoram bordering Assam on February 9. After walking through the district in northern Mizoram and Mamit district in western Mizoram, he had come back to Aizawl on Saturday.

The 64-year-old’s aim is to spread the message of brotherhood, national integrity, eye donation and conservation of water resources and wildlife.

Reminiscing on his journey, he said, “In each village and town, the concerned village council arranged me a platform where I spoke about my message to my people.”
