SHILLONG:
A woman has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against her husband, accusing him of stabbing her during a heated argument within their residence in Shillong.
The FIR, directed against one Suresh P Singh, was officially submitted to the Officer Incharge of Laban police station on Tuesday, October 31.
The victim, identified as Poonam Singh, was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital for medical attention after the altercation. The altercation began when Poonam requested her husband to purchase groceries for their daughter.
Poonam recounted the incident in her FIR, stating, “Today morning, I asked my husband to get some groceries for my daughter. He refused, claiming we had no money. At that point, I said, ‘You have money to spend on the …Bala and get her house painted, and you don’t have money for us.’ The argument escalated, and he stabbed me with a knife, kicked me, injured my thighs, and hurt my fingers. I started screaming, and my daughter witnessed me bleeding. Subsequently, I informed the police, and they brought me to the Civil Hospital.”
