ACHIK gives govt seven days on retrospective implementation of roster system

ACHIK has been peeved with the Conrad K Sangma government over what it claims are delays in implementation of the roster system in government departments.

TURA:

Garo group A.chik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima or ACHIK, which has been at the forefront of the ongoing fight seeking protection of the existing Garo quota in the state job reservation policy, on Tuesday gave the government seven days to come up with “clear and actionable plan for the retrospective implementation of the roster system.,”

ACHIK has been peeved with the Conrad K Sangma government over what it claims are delays in implementation of the roster system in government departments.

It stated that the response should outline the specific steps the government will take, along with a timeline for their execution as the citizens of Meghalaya deserve transparency and accountability.

The organisation has reiterated that it wants the state government to implement the roster system retrospectively with a backlog policy, something that has been opposed by other groups from the Khasi Hills, particularly the Voice of People Party.

The Garo body wants the implementation in all public sector organisations, departments and educational institutions.

“Implementing the roster system retrospectively may pose administrative challenges, but they should not serve as excuses for inaction,” cautioned ACHIK.
