The A’chik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima or ACHIK organisation has criticised the Khasi Hills based HITO organisation of making fictitious statements in support of the director of the Meghalaya Urban Affairs Department who stands accused of violating the standing job reservation policy and giving away posts meant for the Garo category to others.
Following HITO’s reaction to the ACHIK claims and opposing the Garo Hills based organisation over the appointments in the Urban Affairs department, the ACHIK organisation has issued a strongly worded statement displaying five government notifications in regard to the controversial appointments.
“Each of these official letters will inform you that there are two posts for the Garo category and 13 names of the candidates was forwarded to the concerned department for holding interview and selection of the two candidates,” stated ACHIK in the statement mentioning the selection list letters of the Urban Affairs, beginning from November 2021 to April 2023.
The organisation stated that the Director of Urban Affairs can either withhold/repel the appointment or face legal action as it threatened to move the courts within a week’s time.
“We request our young HITO leaders to do the homework before bursting out statements that would encourage corruption and unlawful activities of any person, which in this case is the unlawful activity of the director of Urban Affairs, as it will decay the very society that we exist in with corruption,” said the ACHIK organisation.
