SHILLONG:
The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), the opposition in Meghalaya, as a part of its preparations for the upcoming 2023 elections constituted North Shillong Trinamool Congress Block Committee and elected the party’s convener Elgiva Gwyneth Rynjah as the president, on May 28.
Organised at Wahingdoh Community Hall, the meeting was attended by leader of opposition Mukul Sangma, Meghalaya Trinamool Congress Vice President James Lyngdoh, TMC MLA George B Lyngdoh and several other members.
Stating that the party is expanding in the state, Sangma said, “We are fortunate to have a young dynamic lady from this particular constituency who has indicated her resolve and aspiration to offer herself as the aspiring candidate. She has all of our blessings.”
He stressed on the masses integral involvement in the political system and urged them to take ownership of their state.

Sangma further added that the state is governed by law and order and when people are not deterred by law and continue to engage in criminal activities, the betterment of the state is at stake.
AITC MLA George B Lyngdoh stated that TMC has shown luminous governance for the past thirteen years in West Bengal. Irrespective of caste and creed, the party’s secular aims and equal governance would bring peace to the land of Meghalaya.
