AITC president asks Sohra to vote for ‘change’

Addressing a block committee meeting at Sohra, Pyngrope said, “The people of Sohra need a change, and Trinamool Congress is here to work towards the welfare of the people."

SHILLONG:

Opposition All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) state president Charles Pyngrope on November 5 said the people of Sohra need a change and urged them to vote for the party in the next elections.

Addressing a block committee meeting at Sohra, Pyngrope said, “The people of Sohra need a change, and Trinamool Congress is here to work towards the welfare of the people.”

He also expressed confidence that the party will win the upcoming 2023 polls.

Umroi MLA George B Lyngdoh in his speech lambasted the government over the debacle of addressing the unemployment crisis. He said, “There are two options; one is the corrupted ruling dispensation, while the other is TMC which is the only credible alternative. When Meghalaya TMC aims to give hope, faith, and opportunities to the youth, the NPP-led MDA has left them in shambles with hopelessness.”

Determined to bring a radical change in the state, TMC leader Harold Khongsit said, “After I quit Congress, I chose to be a part of TMC because I aspire to see a change in the state. There have been no tangible developments witnessed in the Sohra constituency. It is distressing to see children lack basic education. While unemployment stands as a burning issue, the government tremendously failed to take up the responsibility to uplift the youngsters.”
