Ampareen criticises agencies for putting state in bad light

Delivering a speech on the occasion of the closing ceremony Golden Jubilee celebration of Seng Khasi College on August 28, she said, “I would say sometimes when you look at some of the indicators that agencies present the state of Meghalaya. They always like to put us down.”

SHILLONG:

Cabinet Minister and spokesperson of Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA II) Ampareen Lyngdoh criticised the agencies who she alleged are putting the state in a bad light.

Delivering a speech on the occasion of the closing ceremony Golden Jubilee celebration of Seng Khasi College on August 28, she said, “I would say sometimes when you look at some of the indicators that agencies present the state of Meghalaya. They always like to put us down.”

She went on to say that she has travelled the length and breadth of the state as a five-time legislator and claimed that the state has achieved much.

Lyngdoh said, “I am not an individual who just sits in one place. Let me tell you, we have achieved much. Yes, we continue to be challenged, but we will continue to work hard. Do not lose faith in your own government.”

It may be recalled that Meghalaya has been ranked among the five poorest states in India in the ‘National Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI): A Progress Review 2023’ report released by Niti Aayog in the month of July.
