NONGPOH:
In a bid to encourage people to donate blood, health minister Ampareen Lyngdoh and Nongpoh MLA and Chairman of the Meghalaya Health Advisory Board, Mayralborn Syiem took part in the blood donation drive held at the St. Paul Parish hospital’s blood bank, in Nongpoh on May 30.
Along with the two political leaders, government officials also took part in the donation drive.
After donating blood, Lyngdoh and Syiem called on the people to come forward and not to be afraid of donating blood, assuring them that it will not harm their health.
Highlighting the urgent need for blood in Meghalaya, the two leaders cited many incidents where people have died as a result of the inability to obtain blood when needed.
“Your blood can save someone else’s life. Help save lives by donating blood to those in need,” Lyngdoh said.
