The office of the District School Education Officer South Garo Hills organised the 62nd Teacher’s Day today at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Hall Baghmara.
Dr. W.Y. Momin, Assistant Commissioner, while recalling the crucial role played by the teachers in shaping the future of a country, stated that teachers are the architects of our dreams, mentors who guide us, and silent architects of our society’s progress.
Our teachers have been instrumental in shaping our nation’s history; they have nurtured brilliant minds such as Lt. Dr. Abdul Kalam and many other great scientists and scholars. She further urged the gathering to give all their love and respect to every teacher, not only on this special day but every day.
The recipients of the District Awardees include Shri Bijoy Saha of Rugapara Deficit Secondary School, Shri Crosster N Sangma of Paradise English School, and Shri Wilnash Ch Sangma of Abindagre LP School. Shri Michael N. Sangma and Smt. Alana D. Sangma were awarded the best scout and guide awards.
