Bernard accuses MDA government of hijacking central projects

Speaking to media persons, the BJP leader targetted the MDA government on various schemes and projects, the FOCUS programme, and others stating that the government has borrowed money from the centre and has siphoned them off for use during election.

TURA:

BJP candidate from South Tura Bernard Marak, on February 15, accused the NPP-led MDA government of hijacking the central projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and denying centre’s contribution in such projects implemented across the state.
Speaking to media persons, the BJP leader targetted the MDA government on various schemes and projects like the FOCUS programme, alleging that the borrowed money was siphoned off by the MDA government for election purposes.
“Modiji has launched a lot of schemes and projects, and none of them have been properly implemented in Tura, Garo Hills, and Meghalaya, so this time, they are going to vote against the former and the present chief ministers and go with the BJP,” he said.
Marak also attacked the government over several alleged scams and corrpution charges.
“As you enter Garo Hills and Tura, you will see sub-standard quality of roads. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 619 listed beneficiaries have not got any house,” Marak said while alleging that the money meant for these schemes is being used for elections.
The BJP leader further termed the FOCUS programme as a scam, revealing that the government, through FOCUS, is trying to convert black money into white.
Speaking on the BJP manifesto that was launched by party chief JP Nadda in Shillong today, he said, “Our Manifesto is going to change the mindset of the people towards BJP. We are more focused on development, uplifting education, improving medical facilities, and venture into those areas where none of the political parties have looked into. So once BJP comes to power, the next five years and beyond will be a new era for the state,” he said.
