Big joke: Cong’s Shrinate on BJP probing corruption in MDA govt

National president of BJP, JP Nadda, while releasing the party's manifesto on Wednesday, had promised to establish a Special Task Force under a retired Supreme Court judge to investigate cases of corruption against the MDA ruling alliance.

SHILLONG:

All India Congress Committee (AICC) chairperson Social Media and IT, Supriya Shrinate, on February 15 hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for promising to investigate corruption cases during the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government of which it was a partner.

“This is a big joke because the BJP are themselves a part of the alliance. The people of Meghalaya want to know what were they doing for the last 5 years?” Shrinate said.

National president of BJP, JP Nadda, while releasing the party’s manifesto on Wednesday, had promised to establish a Special Task Force under a retired Supreme Court judge to investigate cases of corruption against the MDA ruling alliance.

She said that the BJP has realised that it will not win any seat in Meghalaya, so the announcement of this Special Task Force is actually a veiled threat to other smaller parties to fall in line or else they will be under the scanner.

“Today during the manifesto release there were two ministers of BJP on the dais – AL Hek and Sanbor Shullai who were a part of the ruling MDA alliance. Will the BJP also investigate its own partymen who were a part of the corrupt ruling MDA alliance?” she asked.

Shrinate also said that the BJP manifesto released is just lip service full of jumlas and added that the Congress party’s commitments made in their manifesto is the “best, realistic and implementable”.
