SHILLONG:
Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president, Vincent H Pala on July 26 said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is using government agencies to intimidate their party leaders.
“When they are in the Congress, they are corrupt but when they join the BJP they become saints,” the MPCC chief said during a protest against the summoning of their leader Sonia Gandhi for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate, adding that intimidation by the BJP against Congress leaders ends when they join the saffron party.
Citing the misgovernance of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government behind the downfall of state’s economy, Pala stated that extortion on the highways have increased.
“This is the failure of the BJP and its alliance partners,” he added.
