SHILLONG:
In a bid to prove its allegations, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing a chargesheet to expose the National People’s Party (NPP) ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections.
“We are preparing to chargesheet the NPP. The chargesheet will highlight the wrong doings of the NPP that include corruption, diversion of schemes, changing the names of the schemes and others,” BJP state president Ernest Mawrie said.
BJP, which has two MLAs – Sanbor Shullai and AL Hek – is presently backing the NPP-led MDA government. Shullai is a cabinet minister.
When asked, Mawrie said that the charge sheet will not be against MDA government.
Earlier on December 9, Mawrie had said that the state party is waiting for the decision of the central leadership on whether to pull out of the Conrad K Sangma-led MDA government.
Meanwhile, the BJP state president reiterated that the chief minister should come out clean on the implementation of the FOCUS scheme.
“Let him (CM) give a clear clarification from where this money has come,” he added.
