Blend of fashion, culture unfold at Dazzle Vision event in NEHU

This grand spectacle, held amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Meghalaya, brought together an extraordinary ensemble of global icons from the fashion and pageantry industry. As the guests made their grand entrance, the red carpet illuminated with a radiant glow, setting the stage for an evening of opulence and glamour.

In a stunning celebration of style and cultural heritage, the Dazzle Vision fashion event which was organised by Butterfly Clothing and Accessories, took centre stage at the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), on Saturday evening.

This grand spectacle, held amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Meghalaya, brought together an extraordinary ensemble of global icons from the fashion and pageantry industry.

As the guests made their grand entrance, the red carpet illuminated with a radiant glow, setting the stage for an evening of opulence and glamour. Faces adorned with anticipation and excitement, the attendees stepped onto the carpet, leaving everyone around them awestruck.

Gasps of admiration escaped the lips of onlookers as they caught sight of Mr World 2016, Rohit Khandelwal, donned in black shirt, black trousers and black shoes exuding an aura of undeniable charm. Rubaru Mr India, Chena Ram Choudhary, turned heads with his magnetic presence, while Femina Miss India 2019, Miss World second runner-up 2019, Miss World Asia 2019, Suman Ratan Rao, who wore an elegant black gown captivated all with her radiant smile.

The fusion of Meghalaya’s rich cultural heritage with cutting-edge fashion took centre stage, as designers unleashed their creativity on the runway. Vibrant colours, intricate patterns, and traditional elements seamlessly merged with contemporary aesthetics, and sustainability, captivating the audience’s imagination.

The designs/designers included Butterfly collection, Lawan & Jeci, Lana Coutre, De Growth Glam, Grace Designs, Quadd’sk, Centivoguish, Kids Collection by the students of Lady Keane College, Hun-I-Tre, Soola, Molinda, Rimmie Koksi Sangma, Evie wear, Sunshine Beachwear Collection and Na La Rympei.

The runway, however, came alive even more with an exquisite lineup of showstoppers who left an indelible mark on the international stage. Leading the pack was captivating Chena Ram Choudhary, whose undeniable charm mesmerised the audience. Rohit Khandelwal’s magnetic presence commanded attention with every step, and adding a touch of sheer elegance was Suman Rao, who graced the runway in radiating poise and beauty,

The panel of judges was a powerhouse of talent, each renowned in their respective fields. Shillong’s favourite singer, Jessie Lyngdoh, known for her soulful voice, brought her artistic sensibilities to the table. Renowned fashion designer Arif Mukhim, acclaimed for his innovative creations, showcased his discerning eye for fashion, and Songashim Rungsung, Rubaru Mr India 2020-21, a fashion icon, and a popular YouTuber revered for embracing tradition, added his distinctive flair to the panel.

Celebrated veteran artiste Gracyl Ropmay also took the stage. With her youthful charisma and a voice that commanded attention, she left the audience spellbound with her popular song “Uff Ka Jingieid” followed by other popular numbers.
Accompanying her on this musical journey were the exceptionally skilled dancers from the renowned Linna Dance Academy, who added a captivating visual dimension to the performance. The harmonious fusion of Gracyl Ropmay’s remarkable vocals and the dancers’ awe-inspiring moves created a mesmerising symphony that held the audience captive throughout the event.

Evie Wear was the 2nd runner-up, receiving Rs 20,000 in the Dazzle Vision Fashion Show, while Soola took the 1st runner-up position and received Rs 30,000. The winner of the competition, named Grace Designs, earned Rs 50,000.

As the dazzling display of fashion and culture unfolded, it became clear that Dazzle Vision fashion was more than just a showcase; it was a celebration of diversity, a tribute to creativity, and a testament to the boundless spirit of fashion, the unique essence of Meghalaya’s cultural tapestry and must it be mentioned that all proceeds from the fashion show will be donated to charity.
