BPCL launches First EV fast Charging station at NES Mawsmai

The EV station is a flagship outlet of BPCL on the Guwahati-Shillong destination corridor.

NONGPOH:

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a ‘Maharatna’ and a Fortune Global 500 Company, launched the first Electric Vehicle (EV) Fast-Charging station at NES pump, Mawsmai, in Ri Bhoi district, on March 30.

The EV station is a flagship outlet of BPCL on the Guwahati-Shillong destination corridor.

Cabinet Minister A L Hek inaugurated the facility in presence of M B Tongper- Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi district, State Head (Retail North East), BPCL Pankaj Das, DGM, Retail Initiative, BPCL, Debashish Das, Territory Manager (Retail), Shillong BPCL, Indranil Banerjee, Dealer of NES Jorabat, Shripal Jain, and M/S Bimal Cars, dealer of Tata Motors.

Speaking at the launch, Hek said that the the fast charging EV station in Meghalaya will attract more tourists having EV Cars and it will reduce pollution.

State head of BPCL confirmed that BPCL is committed to installing such EV Station in all parts of Meghalaya in future.

It may be mentioned that BPCL is integrating its strategy, investments, environmental and social ambitions to move towards a sustainable planet. The company has chalked out plan to offer electric vehicle charging stations at around 7000 energy stations over the next 5 years.
