GUWAHATI:
The 75 Bn of Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier, on March 1, installed Close Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance systems to monitor illegal activities along the border areas of Sitai and Cooch Behar in West Bengal.
Aimed at preventing and thwarting cross border crimes, the system was inaugurated by Inspector General Sanjay Singh during his visit to 75 Bn BSF, in presence of Brig (retd) Ravindra Singh Rawat, DIG, BSF, Gopalpur Sector, Sukumar Pattanaik, commandant of 75 Bn BSF and other senior officers.
During the inauguration, Gehlot also interacted with the troops and briefed them to remain extra vigilant and maintain high-level of operational preparedness.
Singh said that since the border areas are vulnerable to crimes, the surveillance system will help the border guards to keep an eye on smuggling activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
He further said that the BSF troops are always on alert to prevent trans-border crimes, including illegal infiltration/exfiltration at various BOPs in the eastern sector.
