SHILLONG:
The 97 Battalion of the BSF organised a Civic Action Programme for the villagers residing in the border area of East Jaintia Hills on February 27.
During the programme, BSF personnel distributed computers, printers, furniture, tracksuits, shoes, water storage tanks and household utensils to the residents.
Sandeep Rawat, DIG Sector Jowai BSF, interacted with the villagers and assured them all help through such Civic Action Programmes. He said that BSF will continue to hold such events in the future for the welfare of the people.
The BSF under the initiative, assesses the need of people residing in border areas, and accordingly provides them essential commodities besides assisting in the development of infrastructure in the border areas.
