BTS member Kim Taehyung tests positive for COVID

V is not presenting any extraordinary symptoms other than a mild fever and sore throat, the statement read.

V, member of the popular K-pop band Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS), has tested positive for COVID-19, the band’s management company BigHit Music reported in a statement on Weverse on Tuesday.

“V visited the hospital Tuesday afternoon on the 15th after experiencing a mild sore throat and took the PCR test. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 tonight,” the statement read.

According to the statement, V alias Kim Taehyung has completed two rounds of COVID-19 vaccinations and is not presenting any extraordinary symptoms other than a mild fever and sore throat.

“He is currently undergoing treatment at home while waiting for further guidelines from the health care authorities,” it added.

The company further informed that Taehyung had contact with the other members on February 12, but everyone had their mask on, and there was no close contact.

“None of the BTS members other than V are presenting any symptoms, and everyone received negative results from the preemptive self-tests,” it said.

Earlier, four other members of the band, Min Yoongi, Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin and Park Jimin had tested positive for the virus, however, they have already recovered.
