SHILLONG:
On being sworn in as minister in the Conrad K Sangma-led MDA-2 government, BJP legislator from Pynthorumkhrah Alexander Laloo Hek on March 7 said there is need to work together as a cabinet to bring development in the state of Meghalaya.
“We want to bring development to the state of Meghalaya. This is a collective effort. We need to work together as a cabinet…,” Hek told reporters.
When asked, he said, “Our priority is to serve the people of the state and to uphold the law and ensure everybody has to get justice.”
On BJP’s assurance to investigate all corruption cases against the MDA government, Hek said, “People have not given the mandate to the people. Therefore, I cannot say anything right now at this present juncture.”
The BJP leader said he does not have any preferences and would accept anything which is workable with him as far as portfolios is concerned.
