SHILLONG:
Soon after being released on bail, former Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Meghalaya Police GK Iangrai was arrested by the CID, on February 14, in connection with the alleged misappropriation of funds in the construction of the National Emergency Response System (NERS) at Sadar Police Station Complex in Shillong.
He was earlier granted bail by the court in two cases — NERS case and another related to the supply of dry ration. He was released from Shillong district jail today, but soon after coming out of the gates, he was taken away by CID officials.
