City college introduces mandatory uniforms

As per the directive, students must present their College Identity Cards to the vendor to validate their orders.

SHILLONG:

St. Anthony’s College Shillong announced the introduction of mandatory uniforms for its students starting from the academic session 2024-25, on November 29.

Principal Rev. Br. Dr. Albert L. Dkhar expressed that this decision is the result of a unanimous agreement within the college.

According to the directive, all students, excluding those currently in their 5th semester, are required to wear the newly introduced college uniform. The principal extended a warm invitation to the 5th Semester students, giving them the option to embrace the uniform if they so desire.

To facilitate a smooth transition, students enrolled in the present third and first semesters are instructed to place orders for their uniforms, the deadline for which is imminent, aiming to ensure that the uniforms are ready before the commencement of the new academic session scheduled for February 2024.

As per the directive, students must present their College Identity Cards to the vendor to validate their orders. A complete set of the uniform includes one dark navy blue blazer, two dark navy blue trousers, two white shirts, two pairs of dark navy blue socks, and one pullover, available in either long sleeves or sleeveless.

“Black shoes are to be purchased separately by students from shoe stores,” it added.
