SHILLONG:
The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Node Meghalaya, on April 22, hosted the students of St. Edmund’s College along with their teachers for their educational visit.
During the visit, the students were made acquainted with different activities of the Institute, research laboratories, scientific instruments and available local Bioresources particularly medicinal plants.
The activities of sensitisation of young minds of students is supported by the guidance and initiative of the Director, IBSD, Prof Pulok K Mukherjee to promote awareness of science & technology and their sustainable utilisation towards development of local Bioresources.
It may be mentioned that IBSD is organising such activities to inculcate scientific temperament among students to gain exposure to the research environment and motivate them to pursue research in various fields of life sciences and awareness about local Bioresources.
