Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, on July 21, released the poster of Dominic Sangma’s feature film ‘Rapture’ at his official residence in Polo.
Written and directed by Sangma, this film, whose original title is Rimdogittanga, has a running time of 127 minutes.
Jointly produced by India, China, Switzerland and Qatar, this film has travelled in esteemed film festival markets, namely Film Bazaar, Tokyo Talents (producer), and BoostNL in 2019 and Berlinale Talents (director) and La Fabrique du Cinema in 2020.
Recently, the film was officially selected at the distinguished Locarno Film Festival, Switzerland in a world competition in Concorso Cineaste del Presente section, scheduled from August 2 to 12, 2023.
Characteristic of his approach to filmmaking, the film tackles the subject of superstition and fear in a manner where dreams and reality blend to present a story of a village as cicadas emerges from the ground after every four years, through a child narrator.
