CM reviews ongoing NHIDCL projects in state

Speaking to media persons, the chief minister informed that the contractors have been directed to give their deadline on completion of the projects, and resolve any issues in consultation with the DCs and Departments.

SHILLONG:

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, on December 4, held a meeting with officials of NHIDCL, Deputy Commissioners, all concerned departments, and contractors to review various ongoing projects implemented by the NHIDCL in the state.

Speaking to media persons, the chief minister informed that the contractors have been directed to give their deadline on completion of the projects, and resolve any issues in consultation with the DCs and Departments.

Since winter months are most feasible for construction, the officials have been asked to build their momentum and ensure completion of the projects.

“We have gone through all the important projects that are being implemented by the NHIDCL in the meeting, and hope that those projects will be expedited and completed on time,” Sangma said.

Asked about the challenges that the government is facing to implement such projects, Sangma said that there are different sets of problems such as land acquisition, forest clearances, utility shifting, and others which the government is trying to resolve.
