Congress candidate from Pynursla Nehru Suting has called the present Congress set-up in the state a “new and unsinkable Titanic”.
He said this while addressing the media after filing his nomination before the returning officer of East Khasi Hills district in Shillong on February 3.
He also issued a clarion call to all candidates and supporters of different political parties to come onboard the new “Titanic”.
Furthermore, he exuded confidence in defeating NPP heavyweight and sitting MLA Prestone Tynsong, adding that he needs only 10 years to change the face of Pynursla.
Speaking about the reservation policy, Suting felt that the present Reservation Policy should be scrapped stating that if unity is what we are looking for, then policies such as these should be done away with as they create a divide among the communities.
Suting had unsuccessfully contested the 2018 assembly elections from the Pynursla constituency on a UDP ticket.
Slamming the UDP, Suting called the party a “substandard UDP” alleging the three party ministers of overlooking the needs of the people of the state despite being in a position of power.
