Covid restrictions in Nagaland to continue till Feb 15

In an order, chief secretary J Alam said the offline classes for students of Classes 1 to 8 will be allowed from February 15

The government, on January 31, extended all the existing Covid restrictions in the state till February 15 and allowed reopening of schools till Class 8 from the said date.

In an order, chief secretary J Alam said the offline classes for students of Classes 1 to 8 will be allowed from February 15, but will subjected to parental consent of the student concerned and fulfilment of the conditions and SOPs to be issued by the state home department.

The order also added that the offline board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education will be allowed as per the examination schedule to be decided in March.

The circular stated that suitable arrangements should also be made for the students who are unable to attend examinations on account of being tested Covid positive or symptomatic.

Any person or group of persons violating the directions of the orders, and SOPs will be liable to be prosecuted, the order said.

Meanwhile, the state reported 63 fresh Covid-19 positive cases, 97 recoveries and one death on Monday.
