Amidst the vibrant cherry blossom festival, sitting on the grass were Dr Rahul Karimungi and Dr Bheemashankar, cricket and music enthusiasts, who eagerly shared their anticipation. Having secured their tickets well in advance, the duo, hailing from Maharashtra and Karnataka, embarked on their first Meghalaya experience, inspired by social media revelations about the festival.
Expressing enthusiasm, Dr Karimungi shared, “I’m here for Sanam’s music, and Ronan Keating’s classics from the ’90s. This is more than just a festival for us; it’s a melodic adventure.” Dr Bheemashankar echoed this sentiment, appreciating the festival organisers for blending cricket and music – two passions close to their hearts.
As the match unfolded on the large screen near the cherry blossom stage, the crowd’s excitement intensified. While the discussions about the ongoing cricket game, Dr Karimungi revealed, “Meghalaya is truly breathtaking, and we plan to extend our stay next time.”
With the cricket match gripping the attention of the gathered crowd, the atmosphere was electric. Four wickets down for India, the tension was palpable. Meanwhile, Lamphang Syiemlieh’s voice resonated from the cherry blossom stage, creating a harmonious backdrop to the unfolding spectacle.
