CUET to be rescheduled for students allotted centres outside Meghalaya

Briefing media persons, Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said that the Union Ministry of Education has directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to reschedule the CUET entrance test for Meghalaya students.

SHILLONG:

Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma, on June 15, informed that CUET will be rescheduled for students allotted centres outside the state, and they will be given another opportunity to write the examination.

Briefing media persons, the Education Minister said that the Union Ministry of Education has directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to reschedule the CUET entrance test for Meghalaya students.

“The government took up the matter with the Education Ministry after Meghalaya students were allocated CUET centres in other states. The students were issued admit cards on June 14, and the exam was slated for June 16, giving the students short time to make necessary travel arrangements. Hence, we took up the matter with the centre, and the response has been positive,” he said.

Requesting the students not to worry, Rakkam asked the students to wait for the rescheduled time.

He also informed that the state government has requested the centre to set up more CUET centres in Meghalaya.

It may be mentioned that chief minister Conrad K Sangma had written to Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan on June 14 apprising him on the matter.
