DC reviews status of health service in SWGH

The meeting was held in the presence of the DMHO, Himangshu Barman, MS, Ampati Civil Hospital, Denisha Momin, SDMO, S Hajong, other senior medical officials and nodal officers of all health programmes and MOs in charge of CHC, PHCs as well as sub-centres.

The Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills district who is also the Chairman of the District Health Society R P Marak, on Thursday, reviewed the status and performance of health care service in the district in a review meeting with the District Grievance Redressal Committee and District Task Force, at AmpatiĀ Circuit House.

The meeting was held in the presence of the DMHO, Himangshu Barman, MS, Ampati Civil Hospital, Denisha Momin, SDMO, S Hajong, other senior medical officials and nodal officers of all health programmes and MOs in charge of CHC, PHCs as well as sub-centres.

The Deputy Commissioner who has just recently taken over charge of the district said that all health functionaries have a huge responsibility to ensure the best services and bring improvement in all parameters of health. He observed that the district was doing fairly well in terms of performance and status of immunisation and Maternal & Child Health, institutional delivery, among others, but urged the medical fraternity to work at reducing the infant mortality and maternal mortality.

Further, he also assured that he would soon visit all health facilities in the district to personally take stock of the requirements and challenges faced by the health workers. A review of various health programmes was also conducted among the MHOs and health staff of the district.
