TURA:
The government has decided to set up mini secretariats in all the district headquarters and sub-divisions of the state.
“It will cater to different requirements of the people of every district as the mini secretariat will house all the departments under one roof,” said Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, addressing a gathering at the inauguration of the new office of the District Housing Officer at Dakopgre in Tura, on May 28.
Addressing the problem of shortage of accommodations for district officials and staff, the deputy chief minister informed that several middle-income group (MIG) and low-income group (LIG) housing complexes will be created in the state.
Director of Housing, David D Sangma, while delivering the keynote address at the do, informed that the department is committed to serve the people and are implementing several welfare schemes in all district headquarters and also other locations.
Adviser to the chief minister and MLA of North Tura, Thomas A Sangma, expressed his gratitude to the government for the new office and hoped that new housing schemes will address the accommodation issues once and for all.
