East Khasi Hills with 15 Gold emerge champions in Wushu

SHILLONG:

East Khasi Hills District with 15 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 Bronze medals emerged as the Champion team of the Meghalaya Games 2022 of Wushu discipline with a total = 95 points, as it concludes in city on Friday.

In medals cound, East Khasi Hills is closely followed by Ri-Bhoi District with 4 Gold, 6 Silver and 10 Bronze medals total = 48 points and West Jaintia Hills District with 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 7 Bronze medals total = 34 points.

A total of 9 Districts of East Jaintia, West Jaintia, East Khasi Hill, Ri-Bhoi, Eastern West, South West Khasi, West Khasi, West Garo Hills and North Garo Hills took part in the Wushu competition.

Interestingly, 176 registered participants with 156 athletes and 20 technical officials took part in the Wushu Sanda and Taolu competition Organized by the MSOA & the Sport department, Government of Meghalaya celebrating the 50 years Golden Jubilee celebration.

The Medals ceremony was therefore graced by the Headman of Madanrting Holas Kharkongor with Bobby Wahlang E/C member MSOA along with the President  & Secretary of the MWA.

The Meghalaya Wushu Association praised Conrad Sangma who has given his verbal promise at the opening ceremony to keep organizing the Meghalaya Games every year onwards.

MWA also praised the MSOA and all its committees for their successful performances along with the sport department for the success of conducting Wushu competition in Meghalaya Games, 2022.

The Meghalaya Wushu Association also thanked all the people who had contributed in making the Meghalaya Games 2022 Wushu competition a success.
