SHILLONG:
The Office of the District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, on January 5, organised a significant District Level Function for launching the Final Publication of Photo Electoral Rolls, based on the qualifying date of 01/01/2023. The event took place at the Conference Room of DC Office, East Khasi Hills District.
Fifteen constituency electoral rolls were presented, with notable exclusion of Sohra Civil Sub-Division from East Khasi Hills, a key step in the electoral preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election.
District Election Officer RM Kurbah commended the remarkable women’s enrolment and participation in Mawlai and Mylliem constituencies. She praised the dedication of officers, Enumerators, and BLOs for ensuring accurate and comprehensive electoral rolls.
The District Election Officer distributed CDs containing the latest final photo electoral rolls to political parties, fostering their access to updated information.
The event highlighted a collaborative effort among election officials, political parties, and local authorities to ensure transparency and inclusivity in the electoral process.
