The Maternity & Child Hospital in Nongstoin was completed 3 years back, and in November 2022, the health department sanctioned medical equipment for the MCH to start operating.

SHILLONG:

Residents of West Khasi Hills district expressed sadness after the medical equipment that was intended for the 50-bed Maternity & Child Hospital (MCH) in Nongstoin was switched to Mawkyrwat Civil Hospital in South West Khasi Hills district.

The Maternity & Child Hospital in Nongstoin was completed 3 years back, and in November 2022, the health department sanctioned medical equipment for the MCH to start operating.

On May 23, two large trucks were seen loading all the medical equipments in the MCH at Nongstoin. However, it was later confirmed that all the supplies had been redirected to Mawkyrwat Civil Hospital.
