SHILLONG:
Former state president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Saleng Sangma joined the Indian National Congress (INC) at the Congress Bhawan, Thana Road, on January 23.
Along with Sangma, Richard Lyngdoh of Jaintia Hills also joined Congress today.
Addressing the media, Sangma said that joining the Congress felt right, as it was his old party and added that he was happy and excited to rejoin the grand old party.
The function saw the attendance of state president Vincent Pala, working president P N Syiem and various members of the Congress.
